BETALYN® 515 is a specialized ingredient derived from a unique water extraction process of Beta vulgaris (Beta vulgaris var. Rubra). This extraction method ensures a concentrated profile rich in nitrates, betalains, and betaines.

BETALYN® 515 has been shown to:

  • Support cardiovascular health by helping regulate homocysteine levels and protecting against osmotic stress.
  • Enhance muscle efficiency through increased nitric oxide (NO) production, which plays a key role in vascular smooth muscle function, endothelial integrity, vascular tone, and blood pressure regulation.
  • Aid in post-exercise recovery by promoting circulation and reducing oxidative stress, while contributing to overall cardiovascular wellness.
  • Boost physical performance and accelerate muscle recovery, maintaining cardiovascular protection at the same time.

BETALYN® 515 is standardized to:

  • ≥ 5.0% (HPLC) Betaine
  • ≥ 1.0% (HPLC) Betalains
  • ≥ 5.0% (UV) Nitrates (NO₃⁻)

EFSA NUTRITIONAL CLAIM

Betaine could:
- “contributes to normal homocysteine metabolism”

ENERGY
SUPPORT

Nitrates were shown to increase exercise vasodilatory and cardiac output reserves and reduce arterial wave reflections, which have been linked to left ventricular diastolic dysfunction and remodeling.

By enhancing mitochondrial efficiency and optimizing oxygen utilization, this formula supports sustained energy production, allowing muscles to perform at their best for longer periods without premature fatigue.

SPORT
PERFORMANCE

Beetroot inorganic nitrates have been shown to improve endothelial function in healthy subjects, mitigate the deleterious effects on endothelial function as a consequence of a mild ischaemia-reperfusion injury and restore brachial artery flow-mediated dilatation (one of the most monitored hallmarks in CVDs)

CARDIOVASCULAR
HEALTH

Betalains exhibit strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities and they have been shown to be e 1.5 to 2 times more efficient as a free radical scavenger than anthocyanins at neutral or basic pH.

Interestingly, betalains are extremely effective in preventing lipid peroxidation, which has been remained one of the essential factors to qualify as an antioxidant in vivo [Khan et al. 2016].

ABOUT BETALYN®

Image

BETALYN® is derived from the rubra variety of beets (Beta vulgaris var. rubra), cultivated in Lombardy, in the flatlands of northern Italy.

Beetroot is naturally rich in betalains—potent antioxidants responsible for its vibrant color—and betaine, a compound known for its role in osmoregulation and methylation processes. Together, these bioactive compounds offer a range of potential health benefits, particularly in supporting liver function, cardiovascular health, and enhancing exercise performance.

Incorporating beetroot into the diet—whether raw, cooked, as juice, or in supplement form—can be a highly nutritious way to harness these health-promoting properties.
